How we handle personal information when you contact, book or learn with us.
Last updated: 13 October 2026
How we handle personal information when you contact, book or learn with us.
1. Who we are
LCM Hair Studios provides salon services and curl education through lcmhairstudios.com. For questions about personal information, contact bookings@lcmhairstudios.com, call 07732 037629, or write to LCM Hair Studios, 633 Saffron Lane, Aylestone, Leicester LE2 6UN. This notice covers enquiries, appointments, website accounts and academy-related activity.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use our services, we may receive your name, email address, phone number, messages, booking details, service preferences and relevant hair history. Website accounts and course enrolments may also involve login information, order records, lesson progress and quiz activity. Technical information, such as your IP address, device, browser and security logs, may be processed to operate and protect the website. Please do not send card numbers or unnecessary sensitive information in an enquiry.
3. How and why we use information
We use enquiry information to respond to requests, booking details to arrange appointments, and account and learning records to provide access to purchased education. Contractual necessity is the basis for processing needed to supply a booked service or course. We rely on legal obligations where records must be retained for accounting or other legal purposes. Our legitimate interests include responding to general enquiries, maintaining website security and addressing complaints, balanced against your rights. Where consent is required, such as for optional marketing or the use of a client photograph, we ask separately and you may withdraw that consent.
4. Hair consultations and sensitive information
Hair history can help us discuss suitable services. Only share information relevant to the consultation. If information about an allergy or a health condition is necessary, we explain why it is requested and obtain an appropriate legal basis and, where needed, explicit consent. Optional publication of a client photograph requires separate permission; booking a service does not itself give permission to use your image for publicity.
5. Service providers and sharing
Information may be handled by authorised studio staff and providers supporting website hosting, booking, email delivery, course access and payment processing. We share only what is needed for the relevant purpose and require appropriate protection. Payment providers process payment information under their own notices. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or needed to establish or defend a legal claim. We do not sell personal information.
6. Cookies and website features
The website may use cookies needed for functions such as sign-in, security, booking and course access. Optional analytics or advertising technologies, if enabled, are subject to the consent requirements that apply to them. You can manage cookies through your browser and, where available, the website’s cookie settings. Blocking necessary cookies can affect functionality. External images and links may connect your browser to another provider, which can receive technical information such as your IP address. Consult that provider’s notice where relevant.
7. Retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as the purpose requires. Retention decisions take account of whether an enquiry is resolved, whether an account or course remains active, the need to support an appointment or transaction, applicable accounting requirements and the period needed to deal with a dispute. Records no longer needed are deleted or anonymised, subject to lawful retention requirements and backup cycles. We use appropriate access controls and security measures; no internet transmission is completely risk-free. Contact us for the retention criteria that apply to a particular record.
8. International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where a restricted transfer occurs, appropriate safeguards or an applicable adequacy arrangement must be in place. Contact the studio for details of the providers and transfer protections relevant to your information.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Some requests are subject to legal exceptions. Contact bookings@lcmhairstudios.com to make a request; we may need to verify your identity. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk if you are concerned about how your information is handled.
10. Children and updates
A parent or guardian should manage enquiries and bookings for children and provide only information needed for the service. This notice may be updated when our services or data practices change. The revision date shown above identifies this version. For information about booking terms and refunds, see our Terms and Conditions and Return Policy.
